How does Hypnotherapy work?

Hypnotherapy is, as the word suggests, a therapy that utilises hypnosis to bring about changes to an individual. The state of hypnosis within a therapy setting is purely for therapeutic purposes and isn’t to be confused with stage hypnosis, which is intended more for entertainment.

Hypnosis is achieved by firstly finding a comfortable seated position and with the guide of the therapist slowly drawing the attention inwards until external distractions are almost unnoticeable. From here, the subconscious mind becomes very receptive to suggestions, although you are still aware of everything that is happening around you.
