Michael Mason qualified from the McTimoney College of Chiropractic in Oxfordshire and set to work establishing and building the clinic to where it stands today. Michael is keen on helping people recover from injury, improve their posture, hone their sports performance, keep their patients well, work with children & babies, and make pregnancy more comfortable for mums to be! Michael is registered with the General Chiropractic Council (The UK’s governing body for Chiropractic).
The techniques which Michael uses are specific, effective and relatively un-invasive. The technique Michael favors is Motion Specific Technique and Diversified, however, he has also trained in McTimoney Technique, Koren Specific Technique (KST), and Massage. We look to work along with the body and not against it.
Motion Specific Technique
Motion Specific Technique is a technique honed by Dr Tim Young, a world-renowned leader in Chiropractic. Michael has spent the past 3 years training under Dr.Young, mastering this technique to offer the most specific adjustment possible. Motion Specific Technique initially focuses on the assessment of your spine, locating the areas of most stress and restriction, then returning natural motion through specific spinal adjustments. This technique may include 'cracking' and 'popping' of your spinal joints, as the restrictions are released. This is Michael's commonly used technique for most patient presentations.
This technique looks to remove restrictions between the joints of the spine by performing gentle pulls, pushes, and twists to the spine, helping to remove adhesions from between the spinal joints. These types of adjustments can cause some mild clicking or popping of your joints, which is a perfectly natural process.
This technique is gentle, yet very effective. It involves adjusting by hand, performing light force adjustments to help realign the spine, mobilise joints and loosen tight muscles.
Koren Specific Technique
This is an all-body technique that is used to adjust restrictions in the joints, nervous system, muscles, and surrounding soft tissue. We use a tool known as an Arthrostim to perform gentle and effective adjustments.
Michael has completed hundreds of hours of training in reading and assessing X-Rays and reports on X-Rays every day for his patients. This experience helps Michael to accurately locate the areas of most stress in your spine, assess the causes of the dysfunction, and then create a plan to help to return your spine to normal function. At Chichester Chiropractic Health Centre we have digital X-Ray imaging facilities available onsite, which we can use if necessary to help more accurately assess the causes of your symptoms.
When not in the office Michael enjoys keeping active and spending time with his wife Rebecca and daughter Luna. Michael has a keen interest in many different sports and activities including yoga, DIY, driving at the Nurburgring, golf, mountain biking, sailing, and snowboarding in the winter.
