About Gabi
Gabriela Mendes — Gabi — is a chiropractor with a passion for supporting individuals and families through every stage of life. Her approach combines clinical knowledge with a gentle, personalised style of care, creating a welcoming environment where each person feels listened to and understood.
Gabi studied Chiropractic at Anhembi Morumbi University in Brazil before completing her Master’s degree in Chiropractic at Madrid College of Chiropractic in Spain. She primarily uses Diversified technique and is also trained in Sacro-Occipital Technique (SOT), Thompson, Activator Methods, Webster, and Paediatric Chiropractic techniques.
She has a particular passion for supporting women throughout pregnancy and postpartum, as well as caring for babies and children. Becoming a mother herself has given Gabi an even deeper appreciation for the unique needs of mothers and their little ones. It has also reinforced her belief that every baby develops in their own individual way, and that care should be centred around the child in front of her rather than a set of expectations or milestones.
For Gabi, Chiropractic is about empowering the body’s innate capacity to function, adapt and thrive. She believes that when we support the body rather than simply focusing on symptoms, we can create the foundations for greater health and well-being throughout life.
Outside the clinic, Gabi enjoys travelling, music and spending time outdoors with her family. Since moving to the area, she has especially loved discovering the coastline and feels fortunate to be living close to the sea once again.
Gabi sees patients of all ages. She is registered with the General Chiropractic Council (GCC registration 05387).

Gabi's Chiropractic Techniques
Motion Specific Technique
Motion Specific Technique is a technique honed by Dr. Tim Young, a world-renowned leader in Chiropractic. Gabi has trained under Dr.Young, mastering this technique to offer the most specific adjustment possible. Motion Specific Technique initially focuses on the assessment of your spine, locating the areas of most stress and restriction, then restoring natural motion through specific spinal adjustments. This technique may include 'cracking' and 'popping' of your spinal joints, as the restrictions are released.
Diversified Technique
This technique looks to remove restrictions between the joints of the spine by performing gentle pulls, pushes, and twists to the spine, helping to remove adhesions from between the spinal joints. These types of adjustments can cause some mild clicking or popping of your joints, which is a perfectly natural process.
Sacro-Occipital Technique
This technique looks at the relationship between the base of your spine (the sacrum) and the base of your skull (the occiput), then uses gentle, specific corrections to restore balance through the whole body. Instead of forceful twisting, SOT often uses padded wedges (blocks) placed under the pelvis so your own weight and breathing help the joints settle back into place. Light cranial and spinal work may also be used. These adjustments are typically quiet and low-force, with little or no clicking.
Webster Technique
This technique focuses on the sacrum and surrounding pelvic ligaments, most often used during pregnancy. Gentle sacral adjustments and soft-tissue work are used to improve pelvic balance and reduce constraint around the uterus. The contact is light and specific, with little or no twisting.
Activator Methods
This technique uses a small handheld instrument to deliver a fast, precise, low-force impulse to a specific joint. There is no twisting or long-lever movement. Most people feel a light tap rather than a push, and there is usually little or no popping.
Paediatric Chiropractic
This is Chiropractic care adapted for babies and children, using very light fingertip pressure or a gentle instrument rather than standard adult adjustments. The aim is to ease restriction in the developing spine and nervous system after birth, falls, or postural strain. Contacts are brief, specific, and typically very comfortable for the child.
X-Ray Assessment
Gabi has completed many hours of training in reading and assessing X-Rays, and reports on X-rays every day for her patients. This experience helps Gabi to accurately locate the areas of most stress in your spine and assess the causes of the dysfunction, allowing her to create the most effective plan to help to return your spine to normal function. At Chichester Chiropractic Health Centre, we have digital X-Ray imaging facilities available on-site, which we can use if necessary to help more accurately assess the causes of your symptoms.

What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a method of spinal adjustments that aims to encourage alignment of the spine. Chiropractors are experts at examining the spine, locating the areas of most stress, restriction, and irritation, and then forming a rehabilitation plan to return your spine to normal function. When the spine stops moving, balancing, and functioning as normal, this places additional stress on the joints, muscles, and nerves, reducing your function and leading to a variety of symptoms including pain, stiffness, muscle tension, muscle weakness, pins & needles, and much more.
Chiropractic is a harmony of science and philosophy with the aim of helping the body to function at its optimum. Chiropractic is focused on achieving spinal alignment through specific and targeted adjustments to improve the biomechanical health of your spine. Every day, thousands of people visit Chiropractors as a way to stay healthy, increase flexibility, and improve posture for a better life and sports performance.

What is the cause of your symptoms?
Your nervous system controls and regulates every movement and every process in your body. Misalignments in your spine can cause interference with your nervous system, leading to negative effects on your health and overall performance and, in some cases, causing symptoms including pain, numbness, pins & needles, and tingling.
Unlike painkillers, which can mask your symptoms, Chiropractors look to diagnose the main underlying cause and treat it accordingly. To find the cause, we take a full history and perform a physical; this can include a neurological, cardiovascular, abdominal and respiratory screening, range of motion testing and gait evaluation. Should the Chiropractor determine that further investigation is necessary, we have Digital X-Ray facilities onsite. There may be times when we may need to refer you back to your GP for further tests.
Your Chiropractor will use effective adjustments to help correct any misalignments and encourage your body’s own healing mechanisms.
